Los Angeles birth Photography

Strength, Love, and Transformation are all just parts of birth

As a birth photographer I flow through the birth realm with gentleness and artistry capturing the details of your story. I recognize the power and strength within you, and I am here to support YOUR vision for the birth of your family and guide you toward making it a reality.

Don't miss the moments of your power and the firsts with your baby...

Having a birth Photographer means documenting…

Your Power and Strength.

Every contraction, every breath, every push is a testament to what your body can do. Birth photography preserves those moments of raw power and quiet resilience so you can look back and see the strength that carried you through.

Your Love Story

The way your partner’s hand steadies yours, the whispered words of encouragement, the tears of relief when your baby arrives—these intimate details tell the story of a love that deepens in birth..

Your Baby's First Moments

From their first cry to the curl of their fingers around yours, these fleeting seconds are captured forever—reminders of how your baby entered the world and into your arms.

Your Family Transformation

Birth is the moment everything shifts. Whether it’s the day you become parents for the first time or your family grows by one more heartbeat, photography documents the sacred threshold where life changes forever.

Meet diana

Hello, Friend! I am thrilled to be your Los Angeles birth and lifestyle photographer and birth doula.

I am very passionate about supporting moms within the West LA area during their journey through birth and into parenthood.

I was born and raised in Verona, Italy, where, starting at an early age, my studies of ballet, theater, and contemporary dance whet my appetite for visual beauty.

After completing a BA in Film Studies and a Master’s in Digital Imaging in London, I moved to Los Angeles and began working in the visual effects industry as a visual effects compositor on movies such as Sin City, Memoirs of a Geisha, and the Marvel superhero films.

After the birth of my second child, I discovered my true passion and started working as a birth doula within the Los Angeles birth community. It was then that I envisioned the possibility of finally putting my visual passion to use—by becoming a professional and certified birth photographer.

MORE love notes

I have known Diana Hinek in many capacities over the past decade. Most relevant has been as a doula and birth photographer to many of my clients. Her empathy as a doula and birth professional is remarkable and her integrity is above reproach. She is very knowledgeable of the process and the birth space from her experiences as a mother and while caring for my clients, both as a doula and a birth photographer. This knowledge and experience give her the wisdom to respect the birthing family. This wisdom is visible in her work and shows in her wonderful pictures. I have many of her photos on my website and social media. I strongly support her candidacy for a certified professional birth photographer.

Questions about

Birth Photography
  • You are about to embark on one of the most epic journeys of your life. Most moms will tell you that although birth is memorably intense, it can be hard to remember in detail. As your birth photographer/videographer, I will professionally document each moment of your quest to meet your baby so that you can treasure a collection of images/videos from that day’s emotions for years to come.

  • I provide a collection of images that cover the full range of emotions representing your birth. Therefore, there will be some images that are more graphic than others. Some will capture your feelings, some the details of the day, and some the moment your baby takes her or his first breath and locks eyes on you. Although graphic, some images simply mirror the rawness and uniqueness of the moment.

  • We will discuss this during your client meeting, but unless unsafe I will continue photographing. Also, I will do my best to read the situation and trust my judgment, but ultimately, you will be in charge of deciding whether you wish for me to keep documenting your birth or not.

  • I will meet you at the hospital and capture your VIP arrival
While in the OR and if the hospital allows it, I will be right next to you and your partner. After the birth of your baby, I will take pictures of you and your family bonding and the arrival of any family members who might join you to meet your baby immediately after birth.

  • Whether you are laboring outdoors or indoors, I prefer to use natural light whenever possible. That said, if during your labor we need an extra light source, I will use a flash that indirectly bounces off the ceiling.

  • Absolutely! Sometimes still images aren’t enough; I also offer video to preserve the sounds, movements, and unfolding of your birth day. You can check my work here.
