This post is about Olivia’s beautiful Birth.

Olivia is my youngest rock star. Her mamma birthed her for two long days, with humor, patience and strength. Alternating between their home in West Los Angeles and Cedar Sinai hospital. I am in awe of this family who showed up to support this mom like a wolf pack would. Please enjoy a few pictures from Olivia’s beautiful Birth and that beautiful day.

Often we have this vision of birth that is linear and makes perfectly sense in our minds. However, birth is never predictable. It can change by the contraction and is always very different than what we could have ever expected. For the best and sometimes, for the worst.

In the case of Olivia’s beautiful Birth, her mom had worked so hard and for so long that the best option for her was to receive an epidural so that her body could relax and by softening, opening up to receive the birth of her baby Olivia.

The hospital staff was very diligent and supportive of this mom’s wishes and respected all the visitors, cameras, cheering and tears that are part of this beautiful family.

I am so grateful that mom’s sister ( Olivia’s Aunty) was there, because she certainly became the best Doula’s assistant one could ever dream of. I have been trying to convince her to join the birth workers crazy world, ever since.

Have a look and let me know what you think!
