This Fresh 48 Newborn Session took place after being on call for a sweet baby who decided to arrive quite dramatically via belly birth.
Sometimes birth goes unexpected.
Sometimes you make all the plans; have all the hopes that the best possible scenario may unfold; hire the best team to support you and yet your baby has different plans.
This family tried to protect their birth space until the very last day of pregnancy and like many others in 2020, had to pack a bag and follow through with whatever the weather threw at them…with a little bit of rain too.
They tried to fight the system and make their preferences heard for an undisturbed, yet supported birth. So the hospital announced that their Doula would only be able to be present virtually, they decided to switch to an homebirth.
They worked really hard to find a midwife and hired me as their birth photographer, so that their birth could be remembered and celebrated.
Yet the Pandemic had different plans.

This Fresh 48 Newborn Session was a gentle way to celebrate this family in the name of the raw and the new.
